About the Verizon Wireless Technical Support Program

Verizon Wireless has made special arrangements to assist you in obtaining your A+ and/or MCDST certifications. In order to cover your courses through the LearningLINK tuition assistance program, you must enroll in your courses through Pima Community College (PCC), a regionally accredited school located in Tucson, AZ. Through special arrangement between PCC and a national education partnership program called ITCAP, Verizon Wireless employees can obtain technical training through computer learning centers in various geographic locations around the country without actually attending courses at PCC. However, once enrolled, you are considered a student of PCC and will earn college credit just as if you attended courses on campus. This college credit may be transferable to other colleges and universities.

PEOPLE LEARN IN DIFFERENT WAYS – What is right for you?
Recognizing that people learn in different ways, Verizon Wireless has made arrangements for the courses required for A+ and MCDST certification to be offered in a variety of formats to meet the needs of the individual. Talk to ITCAP and the learning centers to determine what kind of training is right for you.

SELF-PACED LEARNING WITH FLEXIBLE HOURS
Self-paced on-line learning, with distance or local mentoring, allows you to start when you are ready and let your schedule and family commitments determine how much time you will need to finish. You may choose to do the on-line work at home, or anywhere that you have a high-speed internet connection. If you want a more structured program with mentoring available while you study, you can do
the work at the computer learning center. If you choose to do your on-line studies outside of the learning center, you will receive mentoring via phone and email. Each program varies a little to talk to the learning center to decide what is right
for you.

TRADITIONAL CLASSROOM
If you learn better in a classroom with an instructor, these certification programs may also be offered as instructor-led classes at a nearby learning center. Instructor-led classes will have set start and end dates.

Regardless of the delivery method, your progress will be assessed and your learning fully supported by the faculty at PCC.

DISCOUNT RATES, INCLUDING EXAMS
Discount rates have been established for these specialized certifications that include the test fees for each of the certification exams. There will be no
out-of-pocket cost to you if you follow the steps to process your LearningLINK application for approval to begin your studies.
CompTIA A+ Remote Support Technician
The A+ Remote Support Technician credential validates hardware and software knowledge, with added elements of security, soft skills, safety and environmental issues. In addition, it adds the focus of applying these technologies and skill sets in scenarios involving troubleshooting and interacting with customers remotely via the telephone or e-mail.
